Travel Declaration for March Holidays

Dear Parent/Guardian,

MOH has issued an update on additional precautionary measures on 25 Feb 2020, advising Singapore residents to defer all travel to Hubei Province, and avoid non-essential travel to affected areas as announced in MOH travel advisories. As of 5 Mar 2020, affected areas include Mainland China (outside Hubei), Daegu and Cheongdo in South Korea, northern Italy and Iran. Please refer to MOH’s travel advisories for the updated list of affected areas. Many countries have imposed travel restrictions against travellers from affected countries as precautionary measures.

As part of our efforts to ensure a healthy and safe school environment in light of the COVID-19 situation, we would require travel declarations for all students for the March holidays. This information will better help the school to plan and take the necessary precautions.

Please declare your child/ward’s travel plans over the March holidays, which will be easiest via the Parents Gateway app (refer to
https://ahmadibrahimsec.moe.edu.sg/partnerships/for-parents/parents-gateway). If you do not have access to Parents Gateway, you may do so using the attached hardcopy. Only one parent is required to declare. If your child/ward is travelling, please indicate clearly both the country and city of travel. A declaration is also required if your child/ward is not travelling.

If there is a change of travel plans after you have declared, please inform the school directly by contacting the General Office at 6758 5384.

Please note that all Singapore residents returning from affected areas will be placed on Stay-Home Notice (SHN). You may refer to the attached advisory for details.

Thank you for your partnership and support to keep our school safe.

Update: Enhanced School Measures for 2019 Novel Coronavirus

Dear Parent/Guardian,

MOE is constantly reviewing precautionary measures to ensure that our schools remain a safe and healthy learning environment for all our students. This is an update of the precautionary measures undertaken by the school in response to the 2019 Novel Coronavirus situation.

Suspension of mass assembly programmes and activities

The school will be suspending all mass assembly programmes and replacing them with suitable alternative lessons in the classroom. We will continue with flag raising and daily temperature taking in the classroom. Activities outside of the school, including learning journeys, will also be suspended to minimise the exposure of students to large crowds in public, with replacement learning opportunities as appropriate.

To avoid congregation of students in large numbers, we are also requiring classes to be in their classrooms for the first / last 20 minutes of their 1-hour recess break. Your child/ward’s Form Teacher will be advising them on the specific arrangements.

CCA and after-school programmes

CCA and after-school programmes will continue, with additional measures to reduce the group size where possible.

It is important to ensure that our students/children practise good personal hygiene, be socially responsible and always look out for and support one another. If a child is unwell, he/she should see the doctor promptly, and should remain at home until he/she recovers fully.

Thank you for your partnership in ensuring our school remains a safe and healthy learning environment for all our staff and students.

Announcement to Parents / Guardians to Declare Travel Plans

Dear Parent/Guardian,

In view of the novel coronavirus situation in Wuhan and other parts of China, we are taking precautionary measures to safeguard the well-being of your child. This includes the collection of your child/ward’s travel declarations over the Chinese New Year weekend (24 to 28 Jan 2020).

The details submitted are accessible only by authorised personnel and will facilitate health measures to be taken in the event of heightened concerns after the holidays. To make the travel declaration, please go to [SERVICE > DECLARE TRAVELS]. Only one parent is required to declare.

Amidst the festivities, we encourage you to continue educating your child/ward to adopt good personal hygiene practices. If your child/ward is unwell, please seek immediate medical attention and ensure that he/she has recovered fully before returning to school.

Thank you for your assistance in making the school a safe and healthy environment for learning.

Announcement to Parents / Guardians

Dear Parents/Guardians,

In the lead up to the Chinese New Year holidays, we would like to take this opportunity to remind our students of the importance of practising good personal hygiene habits and exercising social responsibility.

Some examples of these socially responsible habits include:

    • Practise frequent hand washing with soap (e.g. before handling food or eating, after going to the toilet, or when hands are dirtied by respiratory secretions after coughing or sneezing);

    • Cover your mouth with a tissue paper when coughing or sneezing, and dispose the used tissue paper in the rubbish bin immediately, especially if you are having a flu;

    • Seek medical attention promptly if you are feeling unwell;

    • Rest at home until you are certified medically fit to return to school.

We seek your assistance to reiterate these with your child/ward. If you are travelling during this period, please submit your travel declaration through the Parents Gateway app or through the school’s website, and have your child/ward alert his/her Form Teachers of his/her travel history.

With staff, students and parents/guardians working closely together, our school and students will stay healthy. Thank you for your partnership in ensuring that our school continues to be a safe and healthy learning environment for our staff and students.
